How long will it take to create my website?
We are usually booked up a few weeks in advance, however this changes from month to month, so we will do our best to book you in as soon as possible.
The typical project duration depends on factors such as how many images you have to add to the website and whether your site needs advanced features such as an online shop. The average completion time is usually within 4 weeks of receiving the deposit payment. If you need it sooner than this, please let us know and we’ll do our best to complete in less time.
What are the payment terms?
We require 50% of the total fee to be paid up front as a non-refundable deposit payment. This helps us both to commit to the project and allows us to book your website into our diary.
The other 50% of the total fee will be due once the website is complete, fully tested and live.
Our preferred method of payment is via bank transfer. If you prefer to pay by credit or debit card, we can also accept these through PayPal and this can be completed online securely through our invoicing system. However, we may need to add a small fee to cover the PayPal fees involved.
Can you register the web address (domain name) and web hosting for me?
Of course! Simply let us know which domain name you require (e.g. www.yourname.com) and we will register it and add the cost to your bill.
Are there any ongoing costs once my website is complete?
All websites require the registration of a domain name (e.g. www.yourwebsite.com) and web hosting package – the service that stores your website online.
These essential services must be renewed each year for as long as the website is live. If you register your own domain name and hosting package, you will pay this to your website host (e.g. GoDaddy) directly. Alternatively, we can register these for you and then send you the bill each year to cover these costs.
We also offer an optional monthly maintenance package including website backups, security updates and minor edits. This is charged on a monthly basis. It is entirely optional though and apart from the above, there are no other ongoing costs.
Do you offer technical support if something goes wrong with my website?
We do. If something goes wrong with your website, simply let us know and we’ll fix it for you as soon as possible.
Will I be able to edit my website myself after launch?
Yes. We build websites on the WordPress platform which is a ‘Content Management System’. WordPress enables you to login to your website’s admin area and make changes to the content. This includes uploading new work to your gallery, deleting old pieces, changing the order it’s displayed and editing the various text content. However, you will not be able change the design or layout of your website.
What if I want to change the design or add new features in the future?
When the time comes to add new features or change the design of your website, we can do this for you at our hourly rate of £30 per hour .
What are the maintenance plan terms?
The maintenance plan would commence the day of your website’s launch. You will need to sign up to the maintenance plan by direct debit which will take payment directly from your bank account on the same day each month. You can either set this up as a recurring payment from your bank account (BACS), or we can send you our link to our account with the secure direct debit service – GoCardless.
* Minor updates are limited to 1 hour per month. Any unused time does not roll over to the next month. Updates could include: adding some new photos to your website gallery, updating the website text or minor cosmetic changes to the design. For larger changes, we will charge an additional fee.
** The maintenance plan is an ongoing monthly service that you can cancel at any time. Simply let us know you wish to cancel and we will cancel your direct debit with GoCardless. Or, if you have set up a recurring payment from your bank, you can cancel this yourself. If you cancel the maintenance plan, you will retain full ownership of your website and it will continue to be live. However, any future website management or updates will be charged for by the hour instead.
I own / work for an art gallery or art business. Can you make a website for us too?
